Launch of Gauteng Amandla Forum! The Nuclear Question and the Energy Crisis in South Africa

The Amandla Forum is a non-sectarian Left platform in South Africa. The Gauteng collective will publicly launch its open forum with a focus on the nuclear question and the energy crisis in South Africa. As part of promoting a new progressive political practice the format for Amandla forums will rely a great deal on the film medium to raise awareness and politicise. Hence the forum will screen the documentary Uranium Road which would be preceded by an input by the author of the book. This will be followed by a short input on the current energy crisis by Anne Sugrue a leading environmental activist in South Africa. All participants are then welcome to debate and discuss these issues with the view of finding solutions and advancing alternatives. This inaugural forum will be followed by a monthly series of talks and documentary screenings on current national and international issues. All are welcome to attend.
